Heat advisory remains in effect Thursday

Posted: Updated:
(WOIO) -

A heat advisory continues throughout Thursday for much of the 19 Action News viewing area.

The advisory remains in effect from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday

Humid conditions combined with rising temperatures rising into the 90s will result in heat indices around 100 to 104 degrees Thursday afternoon.

A heat advisory means that high temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Those working outdoors and people and animals without access to air conditioning are most at risk for heat related illnesses.

Precautions

Drink plenty of fluids

Stay in an air conditioned room, if possible

Stay out of the sun

Check on relatives and neighbors

Avoid unnecessary activity during the heat of the day
