EAST CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

About two dozen people searched a wooded area in East Cleveland - motivated by a rash of recent murders.  They hope they don't find anything indicating more related killings.

The searchers scoured the area where the bodies of Shirellda Terry, Shetisha Sheeley and Angela Deskins, were found wrapped in plastic bags.  Everyone prays not to uncover anymore hidden horrors.

East Cleveland residents say that this is what it will take to take back their community.

Two sites were searched on Wednesday, July 24.  The first was the woods behind East Cleveland's Civic Center and the other was on Elderwood Avenue.

The search gives participants a sense of empowerment and shows the community people care about its residents.

One volunteer said that he just hopes he can make a difference along with everybody else.

Searchers were happy to not find anything.
