Berea, OH (WOIO) - Trent Richardson promised he'd be ready for training camp, and on Thursday, he kept his word, dazzling fans with a burst and energy he just couldn't show a year ago.
Last summer, Richardson was hobbled throughout camp, coming off knee surgery. He took the field for the season opener against the Eagles with only one day of practice under his belt, and never really caught up, breaking a rib midway through the season. This season is off to a much different start.
"Way better, way better", said the Browns' third overall pick in the 2012 draft. "I'm not going to have setbacks like that again."
Even with the injuries, Richardson ran for 950 yards and 11 touchdowns, but believes he'll surpass those numbers significantly in 2013. He arrived at camp at his ideal weight of 225, thanks to offseason conditioning drills that weren't slowed by nagging injuries.
