Former Cleveland Cavalier and free-agent Daniel Gibson turned himself in at the 8th District NOPD station at 9:30 Monday morning. He with accompanied by his attorney.
Gibson is accused of punching a St. Rose man at about 5:15 on the morning of July 8th at a club located in the 300-block of Andrew Higgins Blvd.
As a result, the victim suffered a fractured mandible and received medical treatment. Cops say verbal exchange apparently prompted the incident.
Gibson was booked with second degree battery at Central Lock-Up, and later bonded out.
"Boobie" appeared in 46 games last season with the Cavs, and is currently an unrestricted free agent.
The Cavaliers have yet to make any comment about the incident.
