TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A local man was sentenced Tuesday morning after being found guilty of vehicular homicide.

A judge sentenced Adam Tunison, of LaSalle, MI, to eight years in prison, plus a lifetime suspension of his driver's license, and five years community control for the death of Juan Garcia Jr.

Last Christmas, Tunison was driving north in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 and crashed into Garcia's vehicle. Garcia died at the scene.

Tunison pleaded no contest earlier this month after being charged with vehicular homicide.
