Avondale gets a Reds Community Fund makeover

Posted: Updated:
AVONDALE, OH (FOX19) -

Avondale received a field renovation makeover on Wednesday as the winner of the 2013 P&G/Reds Community Makeover

Baseball fields behind Hirsch Recreation Center received a facelift. In addition, Gabriel's Place received an additional "hoop house" for the community garden and professional assistance to further develop the Farmer's Market for the residents of Avondale.

Over 300 volunteers from P&G North America Marketing, along with Reds Community Fund staff and board members, participated in the day-long volunteer project.

The goal of the annual program is to choose a special field renovation project that will improve local youth baseball or softball programs.

For the past four years, winners have been selected from applications submitted by communities throughout Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
