GARFIELD HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -

Remember Michael Diamond the "Kool-Aid Kid"?  Sure you do.  He's the little boy on Rockwood Road in Garfield Heights who decided to setup a Kool-Aid stand when he overheard his parents' concerns about how to pay for his grandmother's burial.  When the community heard about the family's plight, the response was overwhelming, putting the Diamonds in the position to pay the funeral expenses.

Then we heard that Michael was donating the extra $500 that the family received while raising money for the funeral to the families of the three murder victims in East Cleveland.  In addition to his donation, he opened the stand to further assist the families.

Well he's making news again but this time his focus is to say thank you.  To all that showed their support and helped his family pay for his grandmother's funeral, Michael is giving you something.  He passed out hot dogs and hamburgers Saturday afternoon, as his way of showing his appreciation. Games and prizes were available as well.

Michael's mom, Teresa, says that Michael wants to continue helping others and plans to officially announce the Michael & Bobbie Foundation at his event.

It seems as long as there is someone in need, Michael will have his Kool-Aid stand ready in order to make a contribution toward the cause.
