1st annual RESPECT WALK in East Cleveland

Posted: Updated:
EAST CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

My Brother My Sister will take their first annual RESPECT WALK on Sunday, August 11 at 12 p.m. The walk will start at Shaw High School located at 15320 Euclid Ave. in East Cleveland.

The RESPECT WALK is described as the group's response to the violence that has been committed against women locally and nationally.

During the walk, members of the group plan to educate their community on why respect among young men and women is important.

The group says that their mission is "to promote unity, self-determination, increase college admission and retention of young Black men and women in order to provide a sense of responsibility and servant leadership dedicated to solving local, national and global issues."

My Brother My Sister is in its sixth year of service and celebrates memberships locally and nationally at various college campuses and communities.

This year initial members are graduating from several colleges around the country.
