Usain Bolt reclaimed his title by winning the 100 meters Sunday night at the World Championships in Moscow. Bolt lost the 100 meter title in 2011 after being penalized for two false starts. Bolt passed Justin Gatlin of the United States with nearly 30 meters to go, finishing with a time of 9.77 seconds.
Gatlin placed second, while fellow Jamaican teammate Nesta Carter placed third.
Reigning champ Yohan Blake of Jamaica skipped this years World Championship because of an injured hamstring, as well as American Tyson Gay, who is facing suspension because of a doping offense.
