TALLMADGE, OH (WOIO) -

On Saturday, August 10, decomposed remains were found in a wooded area in the 500 block of Stone Creek Drive in Tallmadge.

The discovery did appear to be two sets of human remains. The Summit County Medical Examiner took possession of the bodies but no identification or cause of death has been determined.

According to the Akron Beacon Journal, the remains were found wrapped in a bed comforter and sheet.

Crime scene teams from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrived on the scene on Monday, August 12, where the two bodies, a woman and a child, were found.

The 31-year-old woman who lived at the home is named Wendy Ralston. She had a 5-year-old son named Peyton.

Friends who knew the little boy came to the neighborhood with a doll as a tribute.

"Just to do that to a child, you have to be a heartless individual," said a neighbor.

On August 7, Wendy was reported missing, along with her son.

"And he was such a sweet little boy. Just one of those kids you met and instantly fell in love with. I just don't understand how you could do that to him," added the neighbor.

It has not been determined if the bodies found in the rear of the home are the missing pair.

A relative who went to the home to check on Wendy and Peyton reported a foul smell. That relative, Marie Ralston, went into the lobby of the police department to report the discovery.

Wendy faced an eviction hearing in Stow Municipal Court later this week, she had been served with papers last week.

The only thing that is clear that this point this that two people are dead and the two people who lived at the address had been reported as missing.

An investigation is being conducted by Tallmadge detectives.

Police have scheduled a news conference at 11:00 Tuesday morning to update the case.
