Drunk driver speeding in mini van nearly hits police cruiser

SOUTH EUCLID, OH (WOIO) -

A drunk driver was arrested after a brief pursuit in South Euclid.

Police tell 19 Action News a man driving a mini van was traveling 65mph in a 35mph zone when he ran a red light at the intersection of Princeton and S. Belvoir. The driver then nearly struck the officer's cruiser.

The driver fled, leading the officer on a brief pursuit ending at the driver's residence. The driver pulled in the driveway, parked the car and was promptly arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
