Perez blows save, but teammates rally for 12th-inning win

Posted: Updated:

Minneapolis, MN (WOIO) - Never a dull moment for the Tribe, who rallied repeatedly at Target Field on Wednesday, before finally holding the Twins off, 9-8 in 12 innings.

Jason Giambi's 3-run home run in the 8th tied the game at seven, and Carlos Santana's solo shot in the 10th gave the Indians an 8-7 lead, before Chris Perez gave up the game-tying home run to Joe Mauer in the bottom of the 10th.

Michael Brantley bailed Perez out, bringing Nick Swisher home with a sacrifice fly to center in the 12th.

The Indians take the series, and move on to the west coast, beginning Friday in Oakland.
