PARMA, OH (WOIO) -

A Parma resident was released from Southwest General Health Center after surviving a terrifying home invasion Wednesday morning.

The 60-year-old man says two intruders tried to burglarize his house around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday in the 2000 block of Grovewood Avenue.

The victim tells police he head a noise inside his house and went to investigate. That is when he ran into both suspects and a struggle began.

During the attack, one of the male suspects brandished a knife and tried to stab the victim. The victim suffered several lacerations and was knocked unconscious during the attack.

The Parma Police Department recovered a knife from the house.  The weapon was sent to a crime lab for testing.

Officers are still investigating the aggravated burglary and have not yet identified the intruders.  The department asks anyone with information to call 440-887-7340.
