CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Day one of the Zack Reed drunk driving trial wrapped up early Thursday evening. The Cleveland Councilman facing charges for his third DUI.

Reed's attorney's say they don't want the jurors in the case to be influenced by what the media has shown in the past.

Cleveland Officer Aaron Petitt performed the field sobriety test on Reed when he was arrested March 5, 2013.

The officer was on the stand for several hours and testified that his patrol car reeked of alcohol.

Jurors watched a 45-minute tape of Reed in the back of a the police cruiser. His every move captured on a police dashcam.

The Councilman's attorney Jeffrey Saffold says the video of Reed at the police station paints a different picture.

"There is literally hours of footage of Zack walking around the police station, that by all accounts appears to show a sober man," said Jeffrey Saffold.

The prosecution is expected to present several other police officers and a supervisor.

Reed's attorney's say Friday they will present hours of footage showing Reed's demeanor back at the station.

The defense will also call several bartenders and a restaurant manager to the stand, to try and prove Reed wasn't drunk.

Reed may even take the stand.

The trial could wrap up Friday or Monday at the latest.
