Oh My! George Takei to grand marshal Zinzinnati parade

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

An actor, activist, author and internet star is adding another line to his resume, grand marshal.

George Takei will be the grand marshal of the 2013 Oktoberfest parade in downtown Cincinnati.

Oktoberfest Zinzinnati is America's largest Oktoberfest, happening September 20-22, 2013 in downtown Cincinnati.

As part of his grand marshal duties, Takei will lead the world's largest chicken dance on Fountain Square at 1:30 on Saturday.

Takei is best know for his role as Hikaru Sulu, helmsman of the USS Enterprise in the television series Star Trek.

In recent years, Takei has gained national attention for his Facebook page, which has 4.4 million followers.

Takei also published a book about the internet called Oh Myyy! (There Goes The Internet).

While he's in town, Takei will also be the narrator and host of The Final Frontier, a Cincinnati Pops space-themed multimedia musical extravaganza. Find out more about that event here - http://www.cincinnatipops.org/Content.php?id=150

Previous grand marshals have included former Cincinnati Reds stars Tom Browning and Joe Morgan, trumpeter Al Hirt, music satirist Weird Al Yankovic and Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil.
