CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

The man convicted of murdering a 72-year-old East Cleveland woman back in 2006, was sentenced Monday morning.

Jerome Wade, 63, will spend 11 1/2 years in prison.

On September 6, 2006, the body of Mary Hudson was found lying on the bedroom floor in her East Cleveland apartment by a repairman and security guard.

East Cleveland Police said the victim had been strangled and hog-tied with a stocking and a telephone cord.

Hudson's home had been ransacked and the music system and a sofa cushion cover were stolen.

The Cuyahoga County Prosecutors Office Cold Case Unit began investigating this case in December of 2009.

The investigation led to a DNA match of Wade. Wade's DNA was located in the victim's body, under her fingernails, on the stockings used to hog-tie her.

Wade's fingerprints were also found on a plastic drinking cup left near where the stereo had been stolen in the living room of her apartment.

On August 16, 2013, Wade plead guilty to one count of Manslaughter.
