MADISON TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) -

After an extensive investigation, Madison Township Police arrested Johnny McKinney in relation to the hit and run fatality that occurred this past winter.

Just after 11 p.m. on Feb. 22, 2013, Joseph Gersin was found in the roadway at the intersection of Hubbard Road and Tarbell Road. The 28-year-old man died at the Lake Health Madison emergency department due to the injuries sustained from the accident.

Small pieces of vehicle debris were left at the scene, which was later linked to the vehicle that McKinney was allegedly operating at the time.

Police also say there was no evidence showing McKinney attempted to slow down.
