EUCLID, OH (WOIO) -

On Saturday, August 24, Sue Allen of the Cleveland Metroparks says rangers for the Euclid Beach State Park were alerted to a possible drowning at the beach at approximately 4:35 p.m.

Cleveland Metroparks divers and Fire Department divers responded to the emergency to help locate the missing swimmers.

Upon arrival, a 10-year-old boy was seen lying conscious on the beach and rescuers received reports of another swimmer still out in the lake.

At approximately 5:38 p.m. a 23-year-old male was located by the dive team.

The relationship between the male and the child has not been confirmed.

Allen says that both were not wearing life jackets.

The 24-year-old man was taken to Euclid Hospital and the child was transported to Rainbow Babies and Children with an adult woman, possibly the mother of the child.

There is no information regarding the conditions of the two people rescued.
