COVINGTON, KENTUCKY (FOX19) -

A man was arrested early Wednesday following the shooting of a 9-year-old boy over the weekend in Covington.

Arrest warrants were previously issued for 33-year-old David Watson and 30-year-old Jonathan Kornegay in connection with the shooting reported Sunday at the City Heights Complex on Benton Road.

The boy was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Police said by Monday evening, he had returned home to his family.

Authorities believe the boy may have been caught in the crossfire.

Kornegay reportedly turned himself into police. He is being held at the Kenton County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

No additional information regarding the second suspect has been released.
