Prayers for a man now recovering at Metro after being badly beaten more than a week ago in the Collinwood area.

"A temporal fracture and he also had a massive wound to the back of his head," said Jimilee Hoover.

Jimilee Hoover's brother John Rager was walking home from work early the morning of August 14th along East 152nd Street when he was attacked by two people. The mentally disabled man was left on the sidewalk with serious injuries.

"They weren't trying to rob him cause all he had in him was $2 and his wedding ring. They were in it to get a thrill," said Hoover.

The victim's family continues to ask for help from the community hoping someone saw something or knows something and will come forward.

"You've taken a great man away and he will probably never be able to work again. He might not even have his memory back again and he's so loving and kind and for somebody to prey on that...." said Hoover.

There is a $2,000 reward for any tips that lead to the arrest of Rager's attackers.

The "John Rager Victim's Fund" has also been set up at any Key Bank.
