Kent (WOIO) - It was closer than expected, and the Golden Flashes had to rally, but Kent State survived a scare from the Liberty Flames on Thursday night, kicking off the season with a 17-10 win at Dix Stadium.
Colin Reardon was 21 of 28 for 194 yards, and threw touchdown passes to Casey Pierce and Chris Humphrey, the latter coming in the fourth quarter to give Kent State the lead for good.
Travion Durham had 21 carries for 94 yards for the Flashes.
