Chicago (WOIO) - Put it in the books! The preseason is over, and the Browns can finally look ahead to the regular season, and the Miami Dolphins, after closing out the exhibition games with an 18-16 win at Soldier Field in Chicago.
Brian Hoyer got the start at quarterback after Jason Campbell was pulled with flu-like symptoms, and put up huge numbers, going 24 of 35 for 307 yards, and hooking up with Dan Gronkowski in the fourth quarter for a 23-yard touchdown.
It would be the defense scoring the Browns' first touchdown, though, as James-Michael Johnson picked off Trent Edwards and took it back 23 yards in the third quarter to cut the Bears' lead to 13-9.
Jordan Palmer had put the Bears up 10-0 in the second quarter with a five-yard TD strike to Joe Anderson.
