AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

The Stow Dr. accused of sexually assaulting at least 10 female patients, pled not guilty at his arraignment Wednesday morning.

Dr. James Bressi was indicted by the Summit County grand jury for 23 counts which include rape, gross sexual imposition and sexual imposition. The Hudson man is accused of sexually assaulting female patients he was treating at Summit Pain Specialists in Stow.

These charges stem from ten victims. However, there are at least forty additional victims at this point who have contacted the Stow Police department.  Officers say the investigation continues as more victims are still coming forward.

Stow Police Detective Jeff Swanson investigated Bressi for a year and a half. If you have any information pertinent to this investigation, please contact Detective Jeff Swanson at (330) 689-5734.

Bressi will be back in court on Sept. 10 for a pre-trial.

"These women put their trust and faith in a medical professional to alleviate their pain," said Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh. "Instead of finding relief from chronic pain, they were sexually assaulted. My office will work to ensure Dr. Bressi is held accountable for his actions."
