Man attempts Days Inn robbery, flees without cash

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) -

Authorities are searching for a suspect accused of robbing a Days Inn hotel in Middletown.

It happened just before 4 p.m. at the location on Commerce Drive. According to police, a male suspect jumped over the front counter in the lobby and demanded money from the clerk.

He then fled from the front of the building. Police say no one was hurt in the incident and no cash was stolen.

Officers were assisted by a K9 officer in the search, but were unsuccessful in locating the man.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5' 8'' to 5' 10'' tall. He was wearing a white T-shirt and had a black do-rag on his head.

Authorities believe the suspect may be involved in other robberies.
