An Akron man is arraigned on charges in connection with a deadly hit and run accident.

Jimmie D. Kirkman, 67, pleaded not guilty to multiple charges.

Police say Kirkman struck and killed Rebecca Altuz as she walked down Darrow Road Wednesday night. He then drove off.

Kirkman was arrested several hours later.

Kirkman remains behind bars, pending a $250,000 bond.

He'll be back in court on Monday for a pre-trial.
