Cleveland Zoo to host "Dystance4Dystopia"

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

 

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is hosting "Dystance4Dystonia", a zoo walk to raise funds and awareness for Dystonia on Oct. 5., at 9 a.m.

The Dystonia Medical Research Foundation is hosting the walk to help raise awareness for the disorder, and the educate the Cleveland area about the challenges people with Dystonia face everyday. 

Adult registration is $25, and children under 11 are $15. Fee includes all day admission to the Zoo and Rainforest, a Dystonia T-Shirt and drinks. 

You can register online at the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation's website, or the day off the walk beginning at 7:45 a.m.

Dystonia is often mis-diagnosed, and the symptoms include uncontrollable muscle spasms. The Dystonia Medical Research Foundation hopes to advance research and develop a cure.
