Police: Teen posted online threats directed towards Mentor High School

MENTOR, OH (WOIO) -

An investigation is underway after a teenage boy posted threats towards Mentor High School on social media.

On September 15, Mentor police received information that a 17-year-old boy posted a threatening comment directed towards Mentor High on Facebook.  This posting was made on September 12. 

The police department began investigating the threat and identified the teen. Officers responded to the teen's home and brought him to the police department for investigation prior to the start of the school day. 

The teenage boy does not attend Mentor High School. 

The investigation is ongoing.
