AVON, OH (WOIO) -

The wife of the North Ridgeville Police Chief is accused of shoplifting in Avon again.

Avon police tell 19 Action News that Elaine Freeman was arrested after allegedly shoplifting at Kohl's on Monday.

Freeman is charged with theft, and is due in court on Thursday morning.

Freeman, wife of North Ridgeville Police Chief Mike Freeman, was arrested last November for shoplifting health and beauty products at the Target store in Avon.

She pleaded no contest to the charge of petty theft in March, and was fined $250 and sentenced to a 30 day suspended jail sentence.

She was also ordered to complete an economic crime program and was to be monitored by the court for two years.
