OREGON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

One man is behind bars after police say he stole items from a Walmart store and then rode his bike right into a cop car.

Oregon Police say Ronald Rumer went into the Walmart on Navarre Avenue Tuesday and picked through the electronics department. A witness told police Rumer stole three USB drives, one flash for a camera, and two portable hard drives.

Police say the witness approached Rumer and tried to apprehend him, but he fled on foot. They say Rumer then hopped on a bike.

The police pursued Rumer through several residential neighborhoods before Rumer rode his bike into the side of a police cruiser. He was taken to the hospital, then released into police custody.

Rumer is being charged with theft, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon, drug paraphernalia, and reckless operation of a bicycle.
