Royal Flush, but Tribe still alive in Wild Card race

Posted: Updated:

Kansas City, MO (WOIO) - The Indians are headed home, and they're very much alive in the Wild Card race, despite falling to the Royals on Wednesday night, 7-2, and losing two out of three in the series.

The Royals scored three in the first inning off Danny Salazar, including Salvador Perez' two run double, and Salazar's wild pitch.

The Indians answered with two in the third inning, thanks to Michael Brantley's RBI double, and Michael Bourn's sacrifice fly.

But the Royals pulled way, scoring on a double steal in the 5th, and pulling away from there.

The Indians return to Progressive Field on Friday to host the Astros.
