LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Investigators are zeroing in on the driver after a Greyhound bus headed from Cincinnati to Detroit flipped on September 14, sending 35 victims to the hospital.

Preliminary reports state that some sort of medical condition led to the crash. Investigation revealed that the driver of the bus, 64-year-old Dwayne Garrett, was drinking coffee, started coughing and passed out.  The bus then drove off the right side of I-75 in Liberty Township, crashing into a tree and fence before coming to rest on its side.

Fifty two people were on-board at the time. Thirty-five patients were transported to local hospitals; twenty-eight via ground and six via air.

A bus inspection found that the vehicle was mechanically sound.

Garrett, of Cincinnati, released a statement saying that he voluntarily had blood drawn for sampling. Results from the blood tests could take weeks to process.

Authorities say charges still could be filed against Garrett.
