Mom, sons charged in Akron alley fight

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

An Akron mother and her sons are facing charges after a fight in the alley behind 943 Kenmore Boulevard on Monday evening. 

Police tell 19 Action News two brothers were playing their guitars in the alley when an 11-year-old boy started arguing with them. A car then pulled up in the alley, and a 31-year-old woman, identified as Deanna J. Hillyer, and her 15-year-old son got out of the vehicle. The 15-year-old grabbed his 11-year-old brother's bicycle and started swinging it, striking the two victims. Hillyer  had a metal pressure gauge in her hand and struck one of the male victims in the face. One victim suffered serious injuries to his face and was transported to Akron General Medical Center for treatment.

Hillyer was arrested and charged with felonious assault and disorderly conduct and booked into the Summit County Jail. Hillyer's two sons, 11 and 15 years old, were also charged. The 11-year-old was charged with assault and disorderly conduct. The 15-year-old was charged with felonious assault and disorderly conduct. They were placed in the custody of the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.
