ELMORE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A Woodmore football coach has resigned during amid an investigation.

The school board accepted the resignation of Assistant Coach Todd Bringman Wednesday night. Community members and the school board couldn't go into many details of the incident because the investigation is ongoing, but they did say it involves a group of players showing up late to practice Sept. 10.

One of those students received a concussion, but the investigation is ongoing to try to determine when and how the injury occurred.

School Board President Steve Huss made an apology to the players.

"I feel bad for them," Huss said. "It's disrupted their normal routine and that's not right…I'm just hoping we can get it fixed and move on from here."

The Ottawa County prosecutor has asked the Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Investigation to investigate and Special Prosecutions Section to handle the case.

Bringman says he is not yet ready to share his side of the story.
