Police find 13.5 pounds of drugs at OVI checkpoint

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Police report that a man was found with several pounds of drugs during a scheduled OVI checkpoint in Blue Ash last Friday.

Deonte Latrell Harlen, 30, was stopped in a van in the 9000 block of Plainfield Road at an OVI checkpoint at 8:30 p.m. on September 20. Officers smelled marijuana and removed Harlen from the vehicle before proceeding to do a search.

Police say that 13.5 pounds of marijuana were concealed in trash bags inside the van in addition to drug paraphernalia.

Harlen is charged with one felony count of trafficking in marijuana and one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
