TALLMADGE, OH (WOIO) -

On a beautiful fall day, a somber occasion as family and friends gathered at Donavan Bagnoli Funeral Home Friday.

Calling hours were held for Wendy and Peyton Ralston.

The mother and her five-year-old son were murdered. The two were found in the woods behind Wendy's home last month.

Those who attended the visitation too shaken up to talk, but, members of this tight-knit community are reaching out to their loved ones.

"It's just tough to hear and to know that it's local in this town. We don't have this type of crime around here. So it was really tough to hear," says Bob McWhirter.

"I was sad. I was shocked cause there was a little kid involved too," says Glen Brown.

Police now calling Wendy's boyfriend, who's Peyton's father, a suspect.

Right now there are no arrests and no charges. Detectives are getting their case ready to take to a Grand Jury for possible charges.

"It's sad. It's a pity and whoever did it god needs to take care of them too," Brown said.

As the investigation continues, those who knew Wendy and Peyton can only wonder why they were taken away from them.

"We can never feel the pain that they're going through, but, that they have the support of the community," McWhirter said.
