Fatal motorcycle crash in Apple Creek

WAYNE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

The Ohio State Highway PAtrol is currently investigating a one vehicle motorcycle crash in the Village of Apple Creek on US 250 at Apple Creek Road.

Carelton C. Flanagan Jr., 29, of Wooster Ohio was traveling eastbound on US 250 on a 2001 Kawasaki ZR-7S motorcycle.

Flanagan's motorcycle traveled left of the center and he lost control.  During the accident he was ejected from the motorcycle and hit a traffic sign.  It is reported that his motorcycle continued east bound before coming to a stop on its side in the parking lot at Dale James Ford.

The Wayne County Coroner pronounced Flanagan dead at the scene. Apparently he was not wearing a helmet.  Flanagan was transported to the Wayne COunty Morgue by the coroner.

Troopers were assisted on scene by the Apple Creek Police Department, Apple Creek Fire and EMS, North End Garage and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

This is the eighth fatal crash in Wayne County and one of to fatal crashes today.

The crash remains under investigation.
