CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Cleveland Councilman Zack Reed was released from jail Saturday morning after serving a 10 day sentence for his third OVI conviction.

Reed left Solon jail at 8 a.m. He reported to jail on Wednesday September 25th to begin serving his sentence.

Solon police told 19 Action News that it is not unusual for the City of Solon to house prisoners in unique circumstances based on security needs or other concerns of the municipality involved.

A jury found Reed guilty on his third OVI offense in August.

Reed was arrested on March 5 at the intersection of East 9th and Rockwell Avenue after he failed to stop at a red light and made an improper turn. He refused to take a breath test.

Councilman Reed has made it clear that he has no plans on resigning and says he has important work to do in his ward, Ward 2. Reed coasted to an easy victory in the primary race for re-election in September. Reed will face Marcus Henley in November.
