Little boy recovering after Maple Heights abduction

Posted: Updated:
MAPLE HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -

A six-year-old boy is recovering after being abducted early Sunday morning in Maple Heights.

It happened just after midnight when two men broke into an apartment at 5171 Warrensville Center Road. Police say the suspects attacked two men in the apartment and then grabbed the little boy.

An alert was put out. Several hours later, a Bedford officer spotted the car and started a chase. The driver crashed off of Broadway. The suspects were treated for minor injuries and are now in police custody.

The boy is now with his mother.

Police say the suspects knew the men in the apartment, but won't release any more details.

Charges are pending.
