Elyria Police: Two attempted abductions linked

Posted: Updated:
ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) -

Police in Elyria are investigating two attempted abductions that appear to be related.

19 Action News has learned both happened on Thursday, October 3.

The first incident happened around 4:30 p.m. on East Bridge Street near the BP. A white man with grayish hair driving a white pick-up truck apparently called out to a girl walking home from school and asked her to get in his truck. She ran away.

The second incident happened 5 p.m. in the Westway Garden Apartment complex. This girl also ran away.

The suspect description is the same.

Police do not believe these attempted abductions are connected to the woman who allegedly tried to abduct a child by asking for a hug.
