19 Action News getting answers about what appeared to be a scam, involving Browns tickets.

Some fans left last week's game feeling angry and cheated.

The Browns just told 19 Action News human error caused a problem with tickets.  The problem had fans believing they'd become victims of a scam.

Fans, Vic and April Baxter told us last week they drove from Pennsylvania and they were escorted out of the Browns game. They'd spent hundreds for good seats, but they say other fans showed up with tickets for the same seats.

Fans say they'd bought the tickets over a site they thought was safe, Ticketmaster's Ticket Exchange.

The Browns told us an employee at Ticketmaster made a mistake. Now the Browns are working with Ticketmaster to prevent a repeat. The Browns say they've reached out to those fans and so has Ticketmaster.

Meantime, Tuesday night 19 Action News reported exclusively investigators had been on the lookout for con men from Pennsylvania and New York selling fake tickets to the Indians playoff game.

Police have investigated fake ticket rings on Craiglist.

19 Action News never heard back from the NFL on this matter, but the Browns say what happened with the Baxters was a first and hopefully a last.
