CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

K9 Jack, of the Cleveland Police Department, passed away on Oct. 4 from a sudden illness. He was a seven year old German Shepherd who was partnered with Patrol Officer Reggie Beddard.

Jack was trained in Narcotics Detection and Patrol, and he once busted 3,000 pounds of marijuana.

Canines live with their handlers off duty, and form a tight bond with the officers they work with.

There will be a private ceremony for Jack on Oct. 15 at the Cleveland Police Patrolman's Association Hall.
