6 Citations issued at Northwood OVI checkpoint

NORTHWOOD, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Out of 489 vehicles that passed through, six traffic citations were issued at a Northwood OVI checkpoint Friday night, none of them for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI).

Northwood Police, along with the Lucas County DUI Task Force, conducted a sobriety checkpoint on the 2500 block of Woodville Road.

Here is a breakdown of citations issued:

Expired plates: 1

No operator's license: 2

No seat belt: 2

Warrant arrest: 1

Although there were no OVI arrests, a short distance from the checkpoint, Oregon Police arrested an individual for OVI involved in an injury crash on IR 280.
