The Indiana Pacers announced Monday that star forward Danny Granger will miss three weeks with a left calf strain. Granger played in only five games last season with a knee injury. The team stressed in the announcement that the decision is precautionary and not related to his knee which required multiple surgeries last season.
The injury happened October 18th during a preseason game against the Chicago Bulls. The team subsequently sat Granger out for the rest of the preseason. Last week the announcement was made that he would miss the first two or three games.
Granger played in 62 games in 2012, averaging 19 points and five rebounds per game. He is expected to provide a huge boost to the Pacers offense this season. Granger was only cleared from the knee injury that ended last season for him a month ago.
