SWAT teams called after man threatens to kill officer with crossbow

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -

A man armed with a crossbow was taken into custody after threatening an officer who came in his house.

Hamilton Police responded to reports of a suicidal person in the 1700 block of Kahn Avenue on Saturday evening. Police received reports of the incident around 7:00 p.m.

Officers arriving at the address were met by a man armed with a crossbow. Police say the man threatened to kill any officer who came in the house.

Hamilton and Fairfield SWAT teams were then called to the scene, secured the home and began attempting to negotiate with the suspect.

Officers say that a SWAT negotiator was able to successfully get the suspect out of the house and give himself up.

The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed at this time.
