GALLATIN COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

A man is scheduled to appear in court Monday charged in the 2012 death of a patient riding in an ambulance.

Troopers reported in July 2012 that an SUV driven by Hunter LeGrand crashed into an ambulance in Gallatin County. The impact of the collision flipped the ambulance onto its roof.

A dialysis patient, John Little, 59, was in the back of the ambulance at the time. He later died at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

According to authorities, LeGrand, 23, of Warsaw, Ky., was intoxicated at the time of the crash and had been involved in a hit and run accident moments before hitting the ambulance.

LeGrand was charged of murder, assault, criminal mischief, DWI and leaving the scene of a crash. He's scheduled for a pretrial conference Monday in Gallatin County.
