Thieves stealing tires, rims in west Toledo

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Since the beginning of September, there have been 22 auto thefts and several car parts stolen off of vehicles in the west Toledo area, including rims and tires.

Police say the thieves are able to use a jack or landscape parts to remove the tires and then drop the car back where it was originally parked. Police say the thefts have been occurring between the hours of 1 and 8 a.m.

Now police are spreading the word in the hope of finding the thieves. They are warning residents to be aware of their cars, especially those parked on the street.

Anyone who sees anything or has information on the thefts is asked to call Crimestopper at 419-255-1111.
