Cleveland (WOIO) - Jason Campbell is nursing a concussion, as is Brandon Weeden, and as of Monday night, head coach Rob Chudzinski isn't sure who's going to start at quarterback against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
"Jason's getting better. He's been cleared for activity, not practice, but for activity and we'll see how he progresses in the next couple of days", Chudzinski said at his Monday press conference.
"It goes by a day-to-day basis, so we'll have to see. Again, these next 24-48 hours will be key. We have a number of plans, contingency plans, and we'll see, as I get more information, how that plays out. But all of the possibilities are open right now."
That includes signing a veteran quarterback to either start, or more likely back up, newcomer Alex Tanney, if both Campbell and Weeden are unable to go.
Weeden threw for 370 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but also threw two interceptions and fumbled in a two-and-a half minute span in the second quarter, leading to 13 points for the Jaguars.
