ABC investigation into En'Vision club after shooting

Posted:

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- En'Vision Club in Jonesboro is under a close watch by the Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Control following Saturday's shooting that left one man dead.

"To get revoked almost immediately if a shooting occurs inside the club," said ABC director, Michael Langley. "That will get you shutdown pretty quickly."

Langley said there are a few ways a business can be stripped of their liquor license.

"If a operator knows of permits or looks the other way in regards to or provides drugs in any fashion or any outlet," Langley said. "Consistent violations of the rules over a fixed period of time."

According to Jonesboro Police Department, there have been 78 police reports filed in a three year time span that involved En'Vision club. Most of those reports involve fights and guns being fired in the parking lot. There were also numerous reports of there being an unruly crowd in the outside the business.

But Langley said everything is judged on a case by case basis.

"There is no specific one time and you're done deal," he said. "We look at everything as it comes."

Region 8 News reached out to the owner of the business several times but there was no response.

"We have one regional agent and we have one of our deputy directors over there taking a look at it as well," Langley said. "There looking into it this week and sometime later this week I would expect a report back with something to review."

Langley said once the report is released they can get a better idea of which way to go with this particular case.
