Massillon, OH (WOIO) - Who says it's tough to repeat? The St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish rode defensive domination to their second straight Division III title on Thursday night, shutting out Trotwood-Madison, 24-0 at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in Massillon.
The Irish allowed just 111 yards of total offense, and forced five turnovers, setting their offense up with great field position, as they pulled away in the second half.
Two future Akron Zips had back-to-back key plays in the third quarter to blow the game open. Travonte Junius' interception set the Irish up at the Rams' 8-yard line, and on the next play, Newman Williams ran it in for a 17-0 lead.
