Woman fatally shot while sitting in car on Cleveland's east side

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A 21-year-old woman was fatally shot while in a car on Cleveland's east side Wednesday night.

It happened in the 4100 block of East 146th Street around 10:30 p.m.

The preliminary investigation reveals that the victim was a passenger in a vehicle. The vehicle was being driven by another person and had turned into a driveway in an attempt to turn around. Shot(s) were fired from outside the vehicle, and the victim was hit in the head. She was rushed to Metro, where she died. She has yet to be identified pending family notification.

It is unknown at this time who fired the shot. There have been no arrests. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit at 216-623-5464.
